Maybe you are highlighting some graphic or table part that the forum won't allow you to copy over? Try copying smaller chunks and finding where you get problems?

Lawsuit between Mana13 and Sussex

Mana13 was charged with commission of fraud. The sentence has been passedStatement of accusationThe defendant has been discharged.
This court will be lenient with you Mana13 and provide you with a
mentor but if I see you in this courtroom one more time, I will give
you the stiffest penalty allowable.

So Mana13, I find you guilty as charged.
Bill of indictmentOn this the 2nd day of October 1454 this office hereby charges Mana13 with Fraud sub-heading d:Profiteering

1.1. Whosoever shall profiteer at the expense of another, sustenance
foods (defined as bread and corn), at an inflated price shall be
charged with the crime of Profiteering and shall face a competent
tribunal appointed by The Count(ess), representing His Majesty the King.

This is a reprehensible crime that preys on the poor souls who toil for
their days wages. The offender shall be given one warning to re-price
his/her product. If the accused does not respond, they will be charged
with profiteering.

* Corn shall be sold at a price lower than 4.25

* Bread shall be sold at a price lower than 8.50

* Wheat shall be sold at a price lower than 15.00

* Flour shall be sold at a price lower than 18.00

Anything higher shall be considered profiteering.

1.2. No person* shall resell any goods purchased from the same market
they were purchased from for an increased amount in order to profit.

This is considered profiteering.

Merchants (anyone who sells or purchases more than 20 of the same item
in towns they don't live in) must get authorization from the towns
mayor prior to posting for sale or purchasing said items. We recommend
that merchants register with a merchants guild.

*This will exclude mayors who purchase from one market (player market)
to sell on another (townhall), tavern owners who purchase from player
market and resell in their tavern, and merchants who have mayorial
authorization to sell items purchased in other towns to be sold to the
local market.

If found guilty of part 1.1 the accused shall pay a heavy fine of ten
fold based on the amount over 3.5, 7, 14, or 17 (respectively) pounds.
A second offence and subsequent offenses shall be double the amount of
the previous fine, and a third offence will also result in imprisonment
for not less than two days.

If found guilty of part 1.2 the accused shall pay a heavy fine of 10
fold of the amount they rob the town or county by this practice. A
second offense and subsequent offenses shall be double the amount of
the previous fine, and a third offence will also result in imprisonment
for not less than two days.
First defence pleadingI am new and i did not know that there was a price limit im very sorry
Prosecutor indictmentYour Honor ignorance is no excuse. The Sussex Laws are posted in many places now.

As Lord Shawn_math has stated he sent a note to the defendant letting
him know what could be done to keep this matter from appearing here and
taking up your Honor's and this courts time.

It has been stated that the bread in question was NOT brought back even after it was explained what needed to be done.

This office would ask your Honor and this court to find the defendant quilty as charged.

And the office would request that the fine be suspened this time and
that the defendant be given the name of a mentor that can help him get
settled and aquainted with Sussex Laws.

Let it be known as well that should this defendant be brought before
this office again on similar charges one will have no choice but to
seek the strictest fines and sentence possible.
Last defence pleadingThe defendant didn't present to the Court. The prosecutor called Shawn_math His statement:
M'Lady and your Honor,

I was approached by M'Lady TaintedX in my Chief of Police office of Lewes about a case of profiteering.

Once she showed me the evidence I advised her to put the bread back up
for the some price she paid. I sent a kind note to the accused
explaining what law he broke and how he could rememdy the situation.

I have recieved no reply and obviously the bread has not been purchased.

I then refered the case to M'lady Saava for prosecution.

*sigh, I do thank the court for their hard work in the last few months. I wish you didn't have to see me so much.
The prosecutor called TaintedX His statement:
I
went into the market as per usual several days back, lookin for the
daily buy of bread, when i saw that there was none in the town hall i
went to the actually vendors. There i saw a loaf of break marked for
10.05 pounds. I figured I would bring this to the attention of those
who would be able to do something about it. I purchased the loaf and
with the reciept of it i took it to proper authorities. I had at first
thought the lad who sold it was merely confused and that it would be
resolved quickly. I was informed to put the loaf of bread back into
vending for the same price, and alas the person in question had not
taken it back. This is all i am able to say at this time, if there's
anything else that you need for this matter, i will comply fully.

(( 28-09-2006 17:10 : You have bought from Mana13 1 bread loaf for 10,05 pounds.))

Lawsuit between Arcanus and Sussex

Arcanus was charged with commission of public disorder. The sentence has been passedStatement of accusationThe defendant has been proved guilty of public disorder.Arcanus this court finds you guilty as charged.

This is the second time you have been in this courtroom for the same offense.

I fine you 150 pounds for each of your 4 offenses. This court will not
allow you to show such disrespect to your fellow citizens of
Canterbury. We are a very peaceful town and county and I also sentence
you to be banished from Sussex County. You will be escorted out of
Sussex County and not to return.

You will have to find a home elsewhere. Hopefully you will treat your future neighbors with better respect than you have here.
The defendant has been sentenced to 600 pounds fine.Bill of indictmentOn
this the 28th day of September 1454, this office hereby charges Arcanus
with MULTIPLE counts of the Sussex Law Public Disorder pursuant to sub
heading L. Harassment.

Is defined as any repeated action, within the context of the game
(Web/Forum), that offends or irritates another person. This can be
based on anything. Harassment includes intent to insult or upset other
people and is willfully malicious. For any action within the game to be
considered harassment, there must be attempts made by the victim to
stop the harassment. This includes talking directly with both parties
and explaining why the actions are objectionable. Everyone must
remember that people come from all different backgrounds, and have
different standards. If this does not work, the victim is to
(privately) go to the proper authority and ask for help. In the forums,
go to a MOD; for IG issues go to either the Mayor, his/her council, or
the count. Explain to them why the actions are not acceptable. Should
the problem continue, this may go to court. It would be the authority
you contacted who acts a prosecutor. That could be a MOD (via Mayor),
the Mayor and council, or the county.

**Penalties for Harassment shall vary, but shall never exceed the following**

*Fines totaling of 150 pounds PER Harassment charge.

*Limitation of freedoms for a period of 10 days.

*3 day jail term.

First defence pleadingThe defendant didn't present to the Court.Prosecutor indictmentYour Honor this office is once again before you in regards to the defendant Arcanus.

As this offices Bill of Indictment states the defendant is charged with multiple counts Harassment.

This is his second time before this court for harassing not only the
town of Canterbury once again but also Mayor Maximillion Hammer.

His actions speak very loud here as he has deemed it NOT worth his time
to even appear before you and this court to defend himself.

When last he appeared before this court your Honor found him guilty and
though he did serve his time in prison he failed to appologize to
anyone as he was requested to do.

He then proceeded to continue his harrasment of the towns people and
even went so far as to publish and distribute a paper (if you will)
belittling the Mayor of Canterbury and various other individuals.

One believes this paper was meant to not only belittle but also
agitate, not only the people it spoke of but the town as a whole.

Many of the townspeople have/had read this scandalas paper as well.

This piece of evidence (http://canterbury.goldeye.info/) has seen been
dismanteled and unviewable. Perhaps in an effort to keep the evidense
from this courts viewing. This could be construed as perjury for
'destroying evidense' and possibly contempt of court for failing to
present. The defendant knew he was being charged and chose to ignore
his summons to this court.

The defendant vanished for awhile in the forums but at the same time
numerous one time posters suddenly appeared and continued to harass,
belittle and besmearch invidivuals, the mayor and the town.

The defendant and these, one can only say, "supporters" called into
question some of the ladies of Canterbury's morals or lack there of.

This constent harassment has caused the mayor considerable discomfort.
This office will not repeat the words of the mayor as we are sure that
your Honor has read them.

Your Honor many of the good people of the town asked the defendant to
stop his 'campaign' as well as several high ranking officals of both
the council and the town such as Lady Gwendalyn and Count Zerostar
along with the mayor.

This office wishes your Honor and this court to find the defendant
Arcanus Guilty of all charges and to sentence him to the fullest
exstent the law allows in fines and prision time.

The public prosecuters office would also ask your Honor and this court to consider banishing the defendant from Sussex County.

Last defence pleadingYour
Honor, the prosecution make confusion between me and other persons who
was banned on the forum. Please note that I am not banned in the forum,
I have full acces to all public areas and I don't receive any warnings
from moderators or administrators. Note that after my previous trial I
don't receive a single warning on forum from moderators and none of my
messages was edited for insults or other things. According to the law
none of the steps that must to be done before a harassament trial are
done in this case and no moderators was involved: "For any action
within the game to be considered harassment, there must be attempts
made by the victim to stop the harassment. This includes talking
directly with both parties and explaining why the actions are
objectionable. Everyone must remember that people come from all
different backgrounds, and have different standards. If this does not
work, the victim is to (privately) go to the proper authority and ask
for help. In the forums, go to a MOD; for IG issues go to either the
Mayor, his/her council, or the count. Explain to them why the actions
are not acceptable. Should the problem continue, this may go to court.
It would be the authority you contacted who acts a prosecutor. That
could be a MOD (via Mayor), the Mayor and council, or the county."

Please note that for any forum issues the only authority able to acts a
prosecutor are MODS because they are the only proper authority you can
contact in forum. That doesn't happen in this case, as you can see on
forum in "Sussex county prosecutors office" thread, the count was the
person who acts the prosecutor, and his action was against the law.

Your honor, please not listen all this false accusations and lies
against me, I see myslef accused on things that I never done. But I see
no reason to defend myself because the prosecution fail to present any
evidence against me.
The prosecutor called Gwendalyn His statement:
Your
honor, I come before you to implore your action regarding this
defendent who not only has continued to repeatedly harrass myself and
my neighbors, but has not even bothered to apologize as he was directed
to do the last time he faced this court.

Immediately upon his return from jail he continued with his menacing
and hararssing posts. Suddenly he seemed to disappear for a few days,
and in his stead several new accounts appeared that attacked myself and
several others with lewd and vile conduct not fit for women and
children. The post directed toward me suggested that I was a woman of
lose morals. Granted my husband has been deceased for many years now, I
assure this court he was the only man known to me and testify that the
defendent lied upon my good name.

In addition to his offenses against me, I am witness to his constant
and continued harrassment of our town mayor. He not once, but multiple
times hounds the man to the point that he can barely get his work done,
many days, and has also done actions that imposed on his dream life as
well.

I fear this defendent will never learn and must suffer the severest penalty the court can dole out on this matter.
The prosecutor called Madmaxhammer His statement:
Maximillian
Hammer at your service. I truely do now know where to begin... I could
start at the sudden appearance of forum accounts (hence banned) right
at the end of the first trial of Arcanus. All the 'new' people did was
to graphically swear and use explicit language and sexually suggestive
remarks. Some remarks were not suggestions. Or in the same motion I can
point out the personal messages I recieved via PM that have been
reported and banned. All created after the first trial. All of them
have been new accounts created specifically to abuse me and the people
of Canterbury. The messages questioned my sexuality, religion, gender
and others. I could point to the fact that my identity ( that I solely
use for RK) from the forums has been stolen and submitted to at least
two online dating services. What do you tell your girlfriend when an IM
pops up " Hi, I am from the dating service"? That is real life trouble,
far beyond this game. That is identity theft.
I will point to a
website created by Arcanus himself ( http://canterbury.goldeye.info/ )
directed at demeaning myself and several other citizens, including
members of this council. People who barely knew him found themselves as
his target. Lirazel, who at the time had maybe 7 posts on the forums
offering to be a judge in a poetry contest, found herself accused of
being unfair. Not to mention several references towards myself and
other town members. To paraphrase Count Zerostar, who said he once
tried to get people to back off Arcanus, now after reading the website
refuses to and wishes him out of the town. If only he has half of the
abuse I get from him... Our own Public prosecutor, who is my affiliate,
is constanly getting accused of being my personal slave or a clone
account. Which several other citizens are being accused of the same
thing. Zamorak, had Arcanus accusing his RL girlfriend of being
disloyal. Xedin has also recieved Personal messages from Arcanus
slandering his wife.

Once again public defense of me and other citizens are met with insults
and cynicism. I realize town members including myself have spoken and
argued and tempers have flared inside the forums. But when a man walks
into a bar and complains and demands everything is faulty and the
bartender is crooked and the tavern goers explains thier opinions even
if they are not in agreeance. When they raise thier voices, the man
insults them and accuseing them of being 'in bed' with the owner. When
asked to leave, he refuses and will continue to make noise and agitate
everyone until 'things are changed' to the way he likes them. Who is to
blame when someone gets fed up and punches him in the face? Though not
innocent, they are justified.

The agitation level in Canterbury is too high. Tempers have flared way
too high and my stress alone has reached critical levels where I am
losing sleep over this. I speak not just for me, but for all of
Canterbury, that we are sick of the abuse, insults, innuendoes,
arguements, insistence that I am corrupt, conspiracy thoeries, attempts
to ruin the town market ETC...

I feel we can use some peace in Canterbury. Thank you.

second offense and subsequent offenses shall be double the amount of
the previous fine, and a third offence will also result in imprisonment
for not less than two days.

First defence pleadingThe defendant didn't present to the Court.Prosecutor indictmentYour
Honor as you can see by the number of charges the defendent cannae use
the defense that he/she is new and did not understand the laws of our
county.

The defendant clearly set out to not only swindle the town but to make
a considerable profit as well and in doing so took over the market in
Lewes thus causing shortages of reasonably prices wheat with which to
make flour but also caused the town to lose gold.

The evidence that Lord Shawn_math has presented to this court speaks for its self.

This office has no choice but to ask this esteemed court and your Honor
to find the defendant guilty of all charges and seeing as it is
multiple counts that the fines and prison terms be over ruled and the
defendant be sentenced to death for his/her actions against not only
the town of Lewes but to the people of Lewes as well.

Last defence pleadingThe defendant didn't present to the Court. The prosecutor called Shawn_math His statement:
M'lady and your Honor,

It is with a sad heart I present this case to you. I have asked that
all cases be lumped into one since the defendent has hijacked Lewes
wheat market and has cost the town much gold. Here is the first cases
that TH discovered:

2006-10-16 08:20:01 : You have bought 2 wheat bags for 16,30 pounds to Dera.

2006-10-16 08:20:01 : You have bought 1 wheat bag for 16,00 pounds to Dera.

2006-10-16 08:50:02 : You have bought 3 wheat bags for 16,90 pounds to Dera.

2006-10-16 08:50:02 : You have bought 2 wheat bags for 16,90 pounds to Dera.

2006-10-16 08:50:02 : You have bought 2 wheat bags for 16,70 pounds to Dera.

As you can see the accused tried to hise his crime with different
prices. After a note was sent to the accused all of the wheat from TH
was bought and more wheat was placed at illegal prices on the market.
The mayor and myself decided to buy a couple bags to see what was going
on and here is what we found:

2006-10-18 20:20:03 : You have bought 1 wheat bag for 16,60 pounds to Dera.

2006-10-18 20:20:03 : You have bought 1 wheat bag for 16,20 pounds to Dera.

The accused felt the need to reprice all wheat in the market at illegal prices and now the town is short on flour and gold.

We gave the accused the required time but as you can tell they felt
moved to continue to hurt Lewes market. This is why I asked for an
agrivated charge. We do ask for a heavy fine and a death penalty in
this case your Honor. There are more wheat bags at this price on the
market byt I feel TH should not lose more money on this criminal.

* Bows
The prosecutor called Emunah His statement:
yes, well Dera had sold Wheat above the legal limit. I bought it for our Police chief in order to find out who it was

Lawsuit between Robb and Sussex

Robb was charged with commission of public disorder.

The sentence has been passed

Statement of accusation
The defendant has been proved guilty of public disorder.
This court finds you guilty of public disorder and robbery.

The people of Sussex work very hard for their money and their should be no reason for this kind of behavior therefore I fine you for 370 pounds.

Let this be a lesson to you to never do this again.
The defendant has been sentenced to 370 pounds fine.

Bill of indictment

On this the 11th day of November 1454 this office does hereby charge Robb under the Sussex Law sub heading 'G'

G-Robbery

Whosoever shall commit robbery against an innocent traveler and steal his/her hard earned wages, or property shall respond to a competent tribunal for the charge of robbery. If he kills said victim, he will further face the charge of murder.
If found guilty, the accused shall face, imprisonment, loss of charisma, heavy fines, or Death, at the discretion of the judge, based on severity of the crime.
First defence pleading

It’s a terrible mistake Milord !!

I was a poor man, walking my way from town to town, looking for a job in order to earn my livelihood.
Some time ago, I saw some objects on the road – food and other things, and near to them some sheet of paper with those three words : “for the poor”.
I have kept this paper to remind me what a kind person Mr Marks was.
** Robb took a paper out of his pocket **

After this I wrote the message Jake Marks has given to you and sent it to him in order to express my gratefulness.

I never meant to harm someone !
Thank you for giving justice to the innocent Milord.
Prosecutor indictment

Your Honor this office has seen many a type pass through this esteemed courtroom but never has one seen a gentleman thief before.

The defendant says he "found" the items on the road while traveling why then would he give the plantiff a thank you note thanking him and mention the boat? Why the defendant even gave Lord Jake_Marks his trust after the deed was done.

This office see's the sending of the 'Thank You' note as an admission of guilt and we also see it as the defendants way of goading the victim by taunting him with said note and reminding him of his loss.

Your Honor the defendant would seem to be mocking not only the victim but this court as well. Oh granted he 'claims' to have a piece of parchment saying "for the poor" but your Honor his holding a piece of parchment and saying it says something does not mean it is so.

The defendant could easily have written it himself once he knew he had been found out. We have only his word that he 'found' the items and said note.

We do have however documented proof from the victim showing that the defendant did indeed rob him and we also have the note that the defendant wrote in his own hand and sent to the victim.

Your Honor this office askes that you find the defendant guilty of robbery under Sussex Law and that the stiffest fine be imposed on him as well as some time in the dungeon.

We ask this as the victim lost not only all his coin but also items that could have helped him to survive his travels and get started in a new trade and his health is now weak due to the lack of nourishment as well.

This office has here (gives the Judge a parchment of itemized costs)what we believe to be fair market value for the items lost added with the pounds the victim has lost as well. This is why we are asking your Honor and this court for the stiffest fine and time in the dungeon to show that we are serious about our laws within Sussex County.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
50pounds + 10fish(10x18pounds:a fair market price for the items)+ 1knife (1x19.50 fair market price for item)+ 1boat/oars (1x120.00 fair market price for said items)= 369.50
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At this time this office rests its case your Honor.
Last defence pleading

Your Honor, the reaction of the prosecutor surprised me !

I have found the name of Mr Marks written on the knife – it was a very beautiful object - so I suppose the donation came from him and sent him the 'Thank You' note and give him my trust. After all, he seem to have made a sacrifice in giving this knife he seem to be attached to ; it was an act of gratefulness from me.

I am quite offended by this accusation – I’m not moking anyone and I surely not have written the piece of parchment saying "for the poor" myself. The prosecutor has to respect the elementary rules of courtesy.
What type of men he think I was ? A sadist ? A thief ? A liar ? What else was I supposed to hear ?
I understand that the consequences of this mistake for Mr Marks affects him, but he must control himself when he work in the service of the justice.

Thank you Milord for listening to my pleading.
The prosecutor called Jake_Marks

His statement:
Thank you first for hearing my plea. I was travelling from Dover to Sussex. When i reached Sussex i discovered i had no money and all my items had been taken, i looked to my "events and this is what i discovered.

10-11-2006 14:19 : Robb gave you his trust.
10-11-2006 04:07 : You have been robbed by Robb .
08-11-2006 04:15 : You have caught one fish.

I lost in total roughly 50 pounds, 10 fish, a kinife, a boat and its oars. I bought the boat and oars after selling my land in order to find a new trade. To add even more evidence which will hopefully be a key deciding factor in this hearing, an email i was sent shortly after;

Title : Re: Aye!!
From : Robb
Date : 2006-11-10 14:46:00

I gave my trust to you – you are a honest citizen who distributes alms to the poor like me, it's very kind of you.
God might bless you, I will pray for you.

PS : A boat ? What should I do with a boat here in the middle of nowhere ?

Now i have lost everything, i have starvered and my character points have dicreased, i have just managed to make enough money to feed myself.

Thank You your time.

The sentence has been passed

Statement of accusation

This court fines you 300 lbs and to 5 days in jail.

We will not tolerate this behavior any longer from you.
The defendant has been sentenced to prison penalty 5 days.

A second offense and subsequent offenses shall be double the amount of the previous fine, and a third offence will also result in imprisonment for not less than two days.
First defence pleading

The defendant didn't present to the Court.
Prosecutor indictment

Your Honor and esteemed members of this court, we have before you a repeat offender. Last time this court sentenced the defendant to death yet somehow he managed to slip through the cracks and justice was not done.

Now he has committed the SAME crime again. He obviously believes that he will yet again manage to get away with his deeds as he did the last time.

He seems to laugh at this court and our laws to the point that he has not even deemed it worth his while to appear before you as ordered. Your Honor has even granted him extra time with which to do so and STILL he has not stepped forward.

Your Honor this office askes you to find the defendant guilty as charged and to impose the stiffest fine, along with MINIMUM time in the dungeon and that this courts previvious conviction be up held and that the defendant be put to death after he/she has served time in the dungeon.

We can not let the law breakers get away with their crimes as this defendant has done. He/She must be made to pay in full and in a timely manner.

Thank you your Honor this office rests its case.
Last defence pleading

The defendant didn't present to the Court.
The prosecutor called Shawn_math

His statement:
Your Honor and M'Lady Saava,

Since the last time we had this defendant in court they have continued their ways. Even tho he was sentenced to death they obviously were not killed.

We ask that this time a heavy fine and a jail sentence that would equate to a death sentance be given.

2006-11-15 17:30:02 : You have bought 1 wheat bag for 15,40 pounds to Dera.

You can see just 3 days ago the defendant is alive and still breaking the law. I have not decided to buy the other bags on the market since I feel only 1 case is enough due to the previous case.
